It is with great humility that we inform the public that Dr. Llaila Afrika has passed on to be with the ancestors. Afrika was a great healer, activist, author, and public speaker in the Afrikan community.

He has written over 20 books including the No.1 bestseller in holistic medicine,  “African Holistic Health.”

According to his website, “Dr. Llaila Afrika has taught and studied in continents such as Africa, Europe, and of course, America. Dr. Afrika lectures and gives workshops on eighty different topics in America, the Caribbeans, Latin America, and Europe. He is the author of over 80 CD’s, DVD’s and books on various health, history, and nutrition topics.”

Afrika was so revered and cherished in our community because he used natural foods and herbs to heal people. His naturopathic and Afrikan-centered approach attracted millions of people to his teaching worldwide.

Dr. Llaila Olela Afrika had made his transition to rebirth. It is his request that we all carry out his legacy. He has left a map for understanding the body, the mind, and the spirit. He dedicated his life for his people, so that they will have direction in all aspects of holistic living. He has left his wife Dr. Melanie Stevenson to carry his torch.As we all mourn, just know that Dr. Afrika lived his life full of GREAT Health and left on his OWN terms. His beloved wife, Dr. Melanie Stevenson, announced his passing on Facebook and wanted us to know that, “Dr. Afrika lived his life full of GREAT Health and left on his OWN terms.”

The healer’s products, books, classes and supplements will continue be available to the Afrikan Diaspora forever. His wife  will be the steward of his legacy.
